LOCK KEY

The default function of the Lock key is Super Lock.

Super Lock is designed to prevent accidental function changes on your transceiver, during operation.

Press and hold the Lock key for 4 seconds to lock the transceiver keys. The following keys/ functions can still be used when Super Lock is active: Calling Alert, Monitor, Monitor Momentary, PTT, Squelch Off, Squelch Off Momentary, and Volume.

To deactivate Super Lock, with the transceiver power OFF, press and hold the Scan key for 2 seconds while turning the transceiver power ON.

When the LED lights orange, release the Scan key. A confirmation tone will sound.

SCAN KEY

The default function of the Scan key is Scan + Temporary Delete.

You can scan the channels of the transceiver to search for a signal. When the transceiver verifies a signal on a channel, it proceeds to check whether or not its QT/ DQT setting matches that which is set up on your transceiver (if any).

If the QT/ DQT matches, the transceiver stops at the channel and opens the squelch so you can listen to the call. If the QT/ DQT does not match, the call is ignored and scanning continues.

Note: You can only use Scan if there are at least 2 channels available on your transceiver that are not locked out of Scan.
