BACKGROUND OPERATIONS

TIME-OUT TIMER (TOT)

The purpose of the Time-out Timer is to prevent you from using a channel for an extended period of time. This function is useful, for example, when you accidentally keep the PTT switch pressed. Additionally, by limiting the amount of time you can continuously transmit, this feature helps you save on battery power consumption.

If you continuously transmit for 60 seconds (default), the transceiver will stop transmitting and an alert tone will sound. To stop the tone, release the PTT switch. You can press the PTT switch again to resume transmitting.

LOW BATTERY WARNING

Low Battery Warning alerts you when the battery needs to be recharged or replaced.

While operating the transceiver, if the battery power becomes low, an alert tone will sound every 30 seconds and the LED indicator will blink red. Replace or recharge the battery pack at this time.
