The reverse function exchanges a separate receive and transmission frequency. So, while using a repeater, you can manually check the strength of a signal that you receive directly from the other station. To swap the transmit and receive frequencies:

Press [REV] to switch the Reverse function ON (or OFF).

¥ ÒRÓ appears when the function is ON.

Note:

You can turn the Reverse function ON when you are operating in Simplex Mode. However, it does not change the Transmission/ Reception frequencies.

If pressing [REV] places the reception frequency outside the allowable range, an error tone sounds and the function does not operate.

If pressing [REV] places the transmission frequency outside the allowable range, pressing Mic [PTT] causes an error tone to sound and transmission is inhibited.

You cannot switch Reverse ON or OFF while transmitting.

AUTOMATIC SIMPLEX CHECK (ASC)

While using a repeater, the ASC function periodically checks the strength of the signal you are receiving from the other station. If the stationÕs signal is strong enough to allow direct contact without a repeater, the ÒÓ indicator starts blinking.

Press [REV] (1s) to switch the function ON (or OFF).

¥ÒÓ appears when the function is ON.

¥While direct contact is possible, ÒÓ blinks.
