Camera ready-light status
Status Possible solution
Does not turn on
and the camera
does not work
■Turn on the camera.
■Recharge the battery or install a new one.
■Mode dial was on when batteries were reloaded. Turn Mode dial off,
then back on.
Glows steady
green
■Shutter button is pressed halfway down. Focus and exposure are set.
Camera is operating normally.
Blinks green ■Picture is being processed and saved to the camera. Camera is
operating normally.
■Camera operating normally at power up. Take pictures when the
blinking stops.
■Camera is connected to computer, USB connection is active.
■Video is recording.
■Self-timer is counting down.
■Camera is powering off.
Blinks red and/or
camera turns off
■Turn on the camera.
■Recharge the battery or install a new one.
■Auto exposure or auto-focus are not set. Release the Shutter button
and recompose the picture.
Blinks amber ■Flash is not charged. Wait. Resume picture-taking when the light stops
blinking and turns off.
Glows steady red ■Camera’s internal memory or card is full. Transfer pictures to the
computer, delete pictures from camera, switch image-storage
locations, or insert card with available memory.
■Camera processing memory is full. Wait. Resume picture-taking when
the light turns off.
■Card is read-only. Change image storage location to internal memory,
or use a different card.
■The Mode dial is set to Favorites. Camera is operating normally.
