DRIVE MODES

The drive modes control the rate and method images are captured. Icons indi- cating the selected drive mode appear on the data panel and LCD monitor and in the EVF. See setting the function dial section on page 48.

Single-frame advance – to take a single image each time the shutter-release button is pressed.

Bracketing – to take a series of images with differing exposure, contrast, saturation, and color.

Continuous advance – to take multiple images when the shutter-release button is pressed and held.

High-speed continuous advance – to take multiple images at size and quality setting approximately 3 frames per second.

UHS continuous advance – to take multiple 1280 X 960 images at approximately 7 frames per second.

Self-timer – to delay the release of the shutter. Used for self-portraits.

Interval – to take a series of images over a period of time.

All icons have been shown for clarity. The single-frame advance

and continuous advance indicators occupy the same area of the

data panel. All the drive-mode icons appear at the same location in the monitors.

When a large amount of image data is captured in a short span of time, the camera’s internal buffer memory becomes full. Time must be given for this data to be written to the memory card.

Depending on the battery power level, the frame counter or drive-mode indicator turns yellow on the monitors (see chart). Wait for the indicator to turn white before capturing more images.
