CONNECTING TO MAC OS 8.6

To access this camera with a computer with Mac OS 8.6, the USB storage support software must be installed first. This software is supplied by Apple Computer, Inc. free of charge. The latest version can be downloaded from the Apple Software Updates web site at http://www.apple.com/support.

To download and install this software, follow the instruction on the Apple web site. Always read the attached terms and conditions before installing any new software.

QUICKTIME SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

To install QuickTime, follow the instructions in the installer. Macintosh users can down- load the latest version of QuickTime free of charge from the Apple Computer web site at http://www.apple.com.

IBM PC / AT compatible

Pentium-based computer

Windows 95, 98, 98SE, NT, Me,

2000 Professional, or XP.

32MB or more of RAM

Sound Blaster or compatible sound card

DirectX 3.0 or later recommended

AUTO POWER SAVE (DATA-TRANSFER MODE)

If the camera does not receive a read or write command within ten minutes, it will shut down to save power. When the camera shuts down, an unsafe-removal-of-device warning may appear on the com- puter monitor. Click “OK.” Neither the camera or computer will be damaged in this operation.

Pressing the shutter-release button will reactivate the camera. Remake the USB connection with the data-transfer menu (steps 5 and 6 on page 133).
