LCD MONITOR BRIGHTNESS
The brightness of the LCD monitor can be set in eleven levels. The brightness setting screen is opened from section 1 of the setup menu (p. 70).

Use the left/right keys of the controller to adjust the brightness, the monitor image changes accordingly. Press the central button of the controller to set the brightness level.

FORMATTING MEMORY CARDS
When a memory card is formatted, all data on the card is erased.
The formatting function is used to erase all data on a memory card. Before formatting a memory card, copy the data to a computer or storage device. Locking images will not protect them from being deleted when the card is formatted. Always format the memory card using the camera; never use a computer to format a card.

When the format option is selected and entered in section 1 of the setup menu (p. 70), a confirmation screen appears. Choosing “Yes” formats the card, choosing “No” cancels the formatting opera- tion. A message appears to indicate the card has been formatted.
