Theleft andright channelRCAandbalanced outputs (6) are labeled on the backpanel. Maintainthe correctleft/right orientation.

Note

Both the balanced and single-ended out- puts canbe usedto simultaneouslyfeed dif- ferent systems.

DIGITAL OUTPUTS

The KAV-300cdis equipped with one EIAJ fiber optic (Toslink) andoneS/PDIFcoaxial digital output. Thetoggle switchonthe rear panel must be set to the ONposition in orderto sendthis outputto a digital record- ing deviceor external D/Aprocessor.

The KAV-300cdis equipped with two ana- log output configurations: Single-endedvia RCAconnectors, and balanced via XLR connectors. Krell recommendsthe use of balancedinterconnects. Balancedintercon- nects not only havethe ability to minimize sonic loss but also have immunity to inducednoise, especially for installations using long cable lengths. Balancedconnec- tions have 6dB more gain than single- endedconnections. Whenlevel matchingis critical, keepthis specificationin mind.

The XLRpin configuration is described below:)

ADDITIONALCONNECTIONS

RC-5In

This input accepts basebandRC-5input commandsfrom various remote devices, facilitating custominstallations. This allows the KAV-300cdto be controlled via hard- wired signals sent from suchunits

12 VDCRemotePowerIn

This input accepts12 volt poweron/off sig- nals from other Krell components,as well as other devicesthat incorporate a 12 volt poweron/off trigger output. This allows for remoteturn on/off of the KAV-300cdwith the poweractivation of another Krell com- ponent as well as other componentsused in a custominstallation.

Note

Consult the owner's reference of any com- ponentusedin a custominstallation to take full advantageof the remotecapability of the KAV-3OOcd¯.
