DependingonyourversionoftheWindowsoperatingsystem,youcanusepasswordsforavarietyof
features,includingcontrollingloginaccess,accesstosharedresources,networkaccess,andindividualuser

Configuringthefingerprintreader
Ifyourkeyboardhasafingerprintreader,youcanconfigurethefingerprintreaderintheSetupUtilityprogram.
TheFingerprintSetupsubmenuundertheSecuritymenuoftheSetupUtilityprogrampr ovidesthe
followingoptions:
•PrebootAuthentication:enablesordisablesthefingerprintauthenticationforaccessingtheBIOS.
•EraseFingerprintData:clearsthefingerprintdatastoredinafingerprintreader.
Toconfigurethefingerprintreader,dothefollowing:
1.S tarttheSetupUtilityprogram.See“StartingtheSetupUtilityprogram”onpage109.
2.F romtheSetupUtilityprogrammainmenu,selectSecurity➙FingerprintSetup,andpressEnter.
