Password Once a password is entered, it is required in order to change the device
configuration. Passwords are case sensitive and can be up to 8 alphanumeric
characters (no spaces or punctuation).
To create or change the password, enter the required password in both the
New Password and Verify Password input fields.
When prompted for the password, leave
the "User Name" blank.
NAT (Network Address Translation)T NAT allows PCs on your LAN to share a single external (Internet) IP Address.
This IP Address is supplied by your ISP. Use the following to determine
whether or nor you need NAT.
• For Internet access, NAT must be left On unless all PCs on your LAN
have valid external IP Addresses.
• If this device is not being used to provide shared Internet access, NAT is
not normally required. With NAT disabled, the FBR-1700TX will act as
a static router.
• If NAT is disabled, the Firewall protection provided by the FBR-1700TX
is lost, and the Advanced Internet features (Virtual Servers, Special Ap-
plications, and Exposed Computer) are no longer available.
