Entering Text

Selectinga Character Input Mode

Your phone provides convenientways to enter words, letters,
punctuation, and numbers whenever you are prompted to
enter text(for example, when adding a Contacts entry or
when using SMS TextMessaging).
To change the character inputmode:
1. When you display a screen where you can enter text,
press Mode ( ) to change the character inputmode.
2. Selectone of the following options:
Abcto cycle through the alpha characters associated
with the letters on the keypad.
T9Wordto enter textusing a predictive text entering
system thatreduces the amountof keys that need to
be pressed while entering a word.
123to enter numbers by pressing the numbers on
the keypad.
Symbolsto enter symbols.
Smileysto enter “emoticons”.
PresetMessagesto enter preprogrammed messages.
PresetSuffix to enter preset suffix such as
http://www., https://www., www., .com, .net, .org,
.edu, .wap, //, ","", (), {}, [], <>, <<>>
Tip: When entering text, press the *(Shift) key to change letter
capitalization (Abc > ABC > abc).
