Playing a DVD or Video CD (continued)

Still Picture and Frame-by-Frame Playback

DVD Video VR +RW +R VCD

1Press PAUSE/STEP (X) during playback. The recorder will now go into PAUSE mode.

2You can advance or back up the picture frame-by- frame by pressing b/B repeatedly during PAUSE mode.

Frame-by-frame reverse playback is not available on Video CDs.

Search

DVD Video VR +RW +R VCD

1Press BACKWARD (m) or FORWARD (M) during playback.

The recorder will now go into SEARCH mode.

2Press BACKWARD or FORWARD to select the required speed: b, m, ,, mm, m,, ,, (backward) or B, M, <, MM, M<, << (forward).

With a Video CD, the Search speed changes to: m, ,, mm (backward) or

M, <, MM (forward).

3To exit SEARCH mode, press PLAY (N).

When you press BACKWARD or FORWARD during a fast forward search or a fast reverse search mode to go to normal speed, search mode is canceled.

Random Karaoke DVD VCD

1Press RANDOM during playback or in Stop mode. The unit automatically begins Random Playback and “RANDOM” appears on the TV screen.

2To return to normal playback, press RANDOM until “NORMAL” appears on the TV screen.

By pressing SKIP (>) during Random playback, the VCR/DVD Recorder selects another title (track) and resumes Random playback.

This function only works with DVD Karaoke discs or video CDs without PBC.

On a Video CD with PBC, you must set PBC to OFF in the DISC menu to use the Random function.

REPEAT

Repeat CHAPTER

DVD Video VR +RW +R VCD

DVD Discs - Repeat Chapter/Title/All/Off

Press REPEAT to select a desired repeat mode.

•CHAPTER: repeats the current chapter.

•TITLE: repeats the current title .

• All:	repeats the all titles on the disc.
	(VR mode DVD-RW disc only)
• OFF:	does not play repeatedly.

Video CDs - Repeat Track/All/Off

Press REPEAT to select a desired repeat mode.

•TRACK: repeats the current track.

• ALL:		repeats the all tracks on the disc.
• OFF:		does not play repeatedly.

•On a Video CD with PBC, you must set PBC to OFF on the DISC menu to use the Repeat function (See “PBC” on page 27).

•If you press SKIP (>) once during Repeat Chapter (Track) playback, the repeat playback cancels.

Repeat A-B	REPEAT
	A - B
DVD Video VR +RW +R VCD

To repeat a sequence in a title:

1Press A-B at your chosen starting point.

REPEAT A- appears on the TV screen.

2Press A-B again at your chosen end point.

REPEAT A-B appears briefly on the TV screen, and the repeat sequence begins.

3To cancel the sequence, press A-B repeatedly to select REPEAT OFF.
