These examples show how to use the set port flowcontrol command set:

Console>

(enable) set flowcontrol receive 5/1 on

Port 5/1

flow control receive administration status set to on

(port will require far end to send flowcontrol)

(enable) set flowcontrol send 5/1 off

Port 5/1

flow control send administration status set to off

(port will send flowcontrol to far end)

Set trunk command

Use the set trunk command to configure the VLAN tagging mode.

The syntax for this command is:

set trunk [mod_num/port_num][offdot1qplus]

mod_num

Number of the module.

port_num

Number of the port on the module.

off

(Optional) Forces the port to become a non-tagging port and

 

persuade the neighboring port to become a non-tagging port.

 

The port becomes a non-tagging port even if the neighbor port

 

does not agree to become a non-tagging port.

dot1q

(Optional) Specifies an IEEE 802.1Q tagging on a Fast Ethernet

 

or Gigabit Ethernet port.

Plus

(Optional) Specifies private tagging to port.

Tagging capabilities are hardware dependent.

Example:

To set port 2 on module 1 as a trunk port:

Console> (enable) set trunk 1/2 dot1q

Port(s) 1/2 trunk mode set to on.

Console> (enable)

To set port 5 on module 4 as an 802.1Q trunk port in dot1q mode:

Console> (enable) set trunk 4/5 dot1q

Port(s) 4/5 trunk type set to dot1q.
