1 Intended Conditions of Use

This circular site saws BKH 400/450 is designed to perform rip and cross cuts in wood having a square or rectangular cross section.

-Cross cuts should be performed only with the radial pull action.

-Do not cut round stock without the aid of suitable jigs and fixtures.

The maximum/minimum blade diameters are 400/350 mm for model BKH 400 and 450/350 mm for model BKH 450.

Any other use does not fall within the intended conditions of use. The manufacturer of this machine is not liable for any damage resulting from any use other then the aforementioned intended conditions of use; all risks are solely born by the user.

Do not use HSS (high speed steel) saw blades and cutting discs in this saw.

The intended conditions of use entail the observation of all operating, service and maintenance instructions given by the manufacturer, as well as the close observation of all safety information given in the operating instructions. This model BKH 400/450 should only be set up, operated and serviced by persons familiar with such work and who are aware of the risks of such work.

All relevant safety regulations for the operation of circular saws, as well as all generally accepted industrial medicine standards and safety regulations have to be observed.

This machine or any of its parts should not be altered or changed from standard specifications. The user of this machine shall have the sole responsibility for any malfunction which results from improper use or unauthorized modification from standard specifications, faulty maintenance, damage or improper repair by anyone other than qualified persons approved by metabo or its reprensentatives.

Residual risks:

Some risks remain, despite this machine being operated in conformity with the intended conditions of use and under observance of all relevant safety regulations, due to the design required by the nature of work to be carried out with it. These residual risks are the following:

-contact with the revolving blade in the cutting area;

-kickback of the workpiece or parts thereof;

-breaking of the saw blade with the broken parts being ejected from the machine;

-contact with live parts when checking electrical components opened for inspection;

-hearing damage when working for extended periods without hearing protection;

-emmission of harmful wooden dusts when operated without a dust collector.

2 User Responsibility

This machine will perform in conformity with the description contained in the instructions provided. The machine must be checked periodically. Defective equipment (including service leads) should not be used. Parts that are broken, missing, plainly worn, distorted or contaminated, should be replaced immediately. Should such repair or replacement become necessary, it is recommended that such repairs are carried out by qualified persons approved by the equipment manufacturer or its representative. This machine or any of its parts should not be altered or changed from standard specifications. The user of this machine shall have the sole responsibility for any malfunction which results from improper repair by anyone other than qualified persons approved by the equipment manufacturer or its representatives.
