Turning the Radio On

1.Turn the on/off/volume control clockwise until it clicks. You will hear a chirp tone after a successful power-up.

Volume Control

Each time it is turned on, the radio per- forms a self check to validate correct operation. If the radio is not operating at the exact parameters set in the facto- ry or field, you will hear a 5-second warning tone instead of the normal chirp tone. This indicates the radio should be serviced immediately.

2.The unit automatically operates dependant on current switch settings. Set the volume by turning the on/off/volume control clockwise. One half turn equals about 50% output.

Receiving

Trunked Modes and Conventional Channels

1.Turn the radio on and select the desired mode and group for trunking, or desired mode and channel for conventional.

2.Listen until you hear a transmission, then adjust the volume control for a comfortable listening level.

3.Your radio is now set to receive calls on the selected mode.

NOTE: If the mode selector knob and the 3- position toggle switch are both placed on an unprogrammed position (blank position), you will hear an “invalid
