The MTX•LS radio receives its power from a rechargeable nickel- cadmium (NiCd) battery as listed in the accessories section. These batteries are a safe, dependable power source for your radio. Proper care of the battery will ensure its effectiveness and allow for peak radio performance.

Charging Temperature
The battery should be at room temperature (about 77°) whenever possible. Charging a cold battery (below 50° F) may result in leak- age of electrolyte and ultimately, in failure of the battery. Charging a hot battery (above 95° F) results in reduced discharge capacity, af- fecting the performance of the radio. MTX•LS
