Note: The text entry method you select remains active until you change it by selecting another method.

Using the Tap Method

This is the standard entry method for entering text on your phone.

Press M> Entry Method from a text entry screen and select Tap Method.

1	A number key	select a letter, number, or
	one or more	symbol shown in the chart on
	times	page 35.
2	Number keys	enter the remaining
		characters
3	OK (+)	store the text

Tap Method Text Entry Rules

•Press a number key repeatedly to cycle through its characters. See the chart on page 35.

•If you do not press a key for 2 seconds, the character in the block cursor is accepted, and the cursor moves to the next position.

•Press Sleft or right to move the flashing cursor to the left or right in a text message.

•The first character of every sentence is capitalized. Press Sdown to force the character to lowercase while it is highlighted by the block cursor.
