Choosing a Text Entry Method

When you enter text using the standard tap method (see page 34), the flashing cursor changes to a block cursor, and the soft key functions change.

After 2 seconds, the block cursor reverts to a flashing cursor and moves to the next position.

Manual background Press DELETE (-) to delete the character to the left of the insertion point.

Choosing a Text Entry Method

Multiple text entry methods make it easy for you to enter names, numbers, and messages.

Press M> Entry Method from any text entry screen to select a text entry method:

iTAP

Let the phone predict each word as

 

you enter it, then choose the word from

 

a list (see page 35).

Tap Method

Enter characters one at a time by

 

pressing the key for the letter, number,

 

or symbol (see page 34). This is the

 

standard method for entering text.

Numeric

Enter numbers only.

Symbol

Enter symbols only (see page 39).
