5Grip the recoil starter (Figure 10) handle and pull it until you feelaslightresistance. Thenpullsharplyandquickly. Return the recoil starter handle to the starter position before releas- ing.

8.If the engine does not start after repeated attempts, check the spark plug for excess fuel. Clean and replace the spark plug as needed.
9.If the carburetor is flooded or the crankcase is loaded with excess fuel, open the drain plug as shown in (Figure 11) and drain out excess fuel, then try and start engine.
