2.Move the throttle lever to the START position by opening it to about 20 degrees (Figure 9).

This section is intended to assist the operator with the initial start-upof the compactor. It is extremely important that this section be read carefully before attempting to use the compactor in the field.

Refer to Figures 3 and 4 for the location of controls and components.

Adjusting Handle Height

The height of the handle is adjustable for your comfort .

1.Loosen the butterfly screw (Figure 7).

2.Turn the grip clockwise to raise the handle or counterclock- wise to lower the handle.

3.When the handle is raised to the desired height, tighten the butterflyscrew.

3.Place the choke lever (Figure 10) in the CLOSED position if starting a cold engine.

4.Place the choke lever (Figure 11) in the OPEN position if starting a warm engine or the temperature is warm.
