TROUBLESHOOTING

NO SOUND FROM ALL CHANNELS	•	AC power unplugged	•	Check AC cable, connection, and outlet
	• Power not switched on
	•	Outlet is unpowered
NO SOUND FROM SOME CHANNELS	•	Faulty/missing cables	•	Check cables
	• <Speaker Settings> channel (s) set to "None"		• Check <Speaker Settings> menu
	• Power-amp or speaker-connections faulty		•	Check power amp, cabling, and speakers
NO SOUND FROM SURROUND	•	No surround listening mode is engaged	• Select appropriate listening mode
CHANNELS	•	Surround-channels set to "None" on	• Correct <Speakers Settings> or
		<Speaker Settings> menu		<Channel Levels> settings
	• Surround-channels level set too low on
		<Channel Levels> menu

NO SOUND FROM SUBWOOFER	•	Subwoofer is off, unpowered,
		or improperly connected
	• Subwoofer set to "OFF" on
		<Speaker Settings> menu
	•	Sub level set too low on
		<Channel Levels> menu

•Power-up subwoofer, check sub's AC outlet, or check connections

•Correct <Speakers Settings> or <Levels setup> settings

NO SOUND FROM CENTER CHANNEL	•	Source is a 2/0 (etc.) Dolby Digital or
		DTS recording without center channel;
	• Center set to "OFF" on
		<Speaker Settings> menu
	•	Center level set too low on
		<Channel Levels> menu

•Play a known 5.1-channel recording or select Dolby Pro Logic or Mono mode

•Correct <Speakers Settings> or <Channel Levels> settings

NO DOLBY DIGITAL/DTS	• Source's digital output is not connected to		•	Check connections
		a T 743 digital input	• Check source component setup
T 743 DOES NOT RESPOND	•	Batteries are flat or incorrectly inserted	•	Check batteries
TO HTR 2 REMOTE	• IR transmitter window on remote, or		•	Check IR windows and ensure clear
		IR receiver window on T 743 is obstructed		line-of-sight from remote to T 743
	• T 743 front panel is in very bright sunlight		•	Reduce sunlight/room lighting
		or ambient light
T 743 DOES NOT RESPOND	•	Microprocessor error	• Power-down the T 743 via the front-panel
TO FRONT-PANEL COMMANDS	•	T 743 may have over heated		Power button and unplug it from the AC
OR REMOTE CONTROL				outlet
			• Wait five minutes, re-connect and
				power up
	• 12V TRIGGER IN/OUT is set to AUTO or		• Switch to OFF position
		in position
