Appendix C Troubleshooting NI PXI-CardBus-8310 Cards

Issue: The host computer is blue-screening/frozen while installing the
NI CardBus-8310 driver.
Re-install the NI CardBus-8310 driver again from the driver CD provided
in your kit. If the problem occurs consistently, please contact National
Instruments for technical support.
Issue: The system froze after installing the NI CardBus-8310 driver.
If any other hardware or software has been added recently:
Remove the recently installed program or hardware, and re-test
the system.
Reboot the computer and see if that fixes the problem.
Ensure that the recently added hardware or software is
fully-compatible with the operating system.
Consult the manufacturer’s web site to see if there is a driver
update.
If no other hardware or software has been added recently:
Verify that the NI CardBus-8310 driver has loaded. If not,
re-install the NI CardBus-8310 driver.
Verify that the NI CardBus-8310 card is inserted properly.
Test the PCMCIA socket by using a different CardBus card, such
as a wireless CardBus card or modem, etc.
Verify that you are using the correct expansion interface cards.
You should be using an NI CardBus-8310 card in your host
computer, and an NI PXI-8310 card in your PXI chassis.
Re-seat both cable connections.
Clean the cable with solvent alcohol using a soft bristle brush.
Swap cables or reverse both end connections.
Use another cable of the same length.
If you are using a long cable, try using a shorter one.
Issue: The host computer is blue-screening/frozen during reboot after
installing the NI CardBus-8310 driver.
1. Reboot the system and press <F8> to go into Windows Safe Mode.
2. Go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers, and delete Mobridg.sys.
3. Reboot the system.
4. Re-install the NI CardBus-8310 driver again from the driver CD
provided.
