CHAPTER 1 GENERAL INFORMATION
System Outline
DTI
The Digital Trunk Interf ac e (DTI) i nterfaces the PBX directly to 24/30-channel PCM transmission
line. The DTI has the following functions:
For 24DT I:
Unipolar/Bipolar Conversion (AMI Format/B8ZS Format)
Alarm Detection/Insertion
Digital PAD on Voice Signal Transmission
Loop-Back Test (Local/Remote Loop Back)
Cyclic Redundancy Checking (based on ITU-T Rec. G704)
For 30DT I:
Unipolar/Bipolar Conversion (HDB3 Format)
Alarm Detection/Insertion
Digital PAD on Voice Signal Transmission
Cyclic Redundancy Checking (based on ITU-T Rec. G704)
For connections of a 24DTI and transmission line, twisted -pair cable ca n be used. F or connection
of a 30DTI and transmission line, either coaxial cable or twiste d-pair cable can be used.
DCH
The D Channel Handler (DCH) provides the D Channel signalling interface through the DTI to an
ISDN exchange, and it is responsible for signaling between the PBX and the I SDN exchange
under control of the system MP.
PRT
The Primary Rate Interface Trunk (PRT) provides the ISDN Primary Rate Interface (1.5 Mbps
PCM-23B + D) and a built-in DCH. The PRT has the following functions:
Unipolar/Bipolar Conversion (AMI Format/B8ZS Format)
Alarm Detection/Insertion
Digital PAD on Voice Signal Transmission
Loop-Back Test (Local/Remote Loop Back)
Cyclic Redundancy Checking (based on ITU-T Rec. G704)
For connections of PRT and transmission line, twisted-pair cable can be use d.
NOTE: ISDN requires B8ZS line coding with Extended Superframing (ESF) For mat.
