Step 4—Focus

In single-servo AF, the camera focuses on the subject in the selected focus area when the shutter-release button is pressed halfway. After centering the focus brackets on your subject, press the shutter-release button halfway and check focus in the viewfinder.

Description

Subject in focus.

Focus point is between camera and subject. Focus point is behind subject.

Camera unable to focus on subject in focus brackets using

(flashes) autofocus.

To focus on an off-center subject, use focus lock ( 80–81) or select the focus area containing your subject using the multi selector ( 74). For infor- mation on what to do if the camera is unable to focus using autofocus, see “Getting Good Results with Autofocus” ( 82).
