Creative Photography (Scene Modes)

The camera offers a choice of “scene” modes.

Choosing a scene

mode automatically optimizes settings to suit the selected scene,

making creative photography as simple as selecting a mode, framing

a picture, and shooting as described on pages 25–29.

illuminator turn off; use of a tripod is

recommended to prevent blur when

lighting is poor.

IX NIKKOR lenses can not be used. Page Compatible Non-CPU Lenses Non-CPU lenses may only be used when the camera is in mode M. Selecting another mode disables the shutter release. Some non-CPU lenses can not be used; see Incompatible Accessories and Non-CPU Lenses, below. A Other Flash Units The following flash units can be used in non-TTL auto and manual modes. D Other Accessories At the time of writing, the following accessories were available for the D3000. Approved Memory Cards The following SD memory cards have been tested and approved for use in the D3000. All cards of the designated make and capacity can be used, regardless of speed. Other cards have not been tested. Defaults can be restored with Reset shooting options (0119).
