Release Mode

Release mode determines how the camera takes photographs: one at a time, in a

continuous sequence, or with a timed shutter-release delay or remote control.

1Place the cursor in the information display.

If shooting information is not displayed in the monitor, press the R button.

Press the P button to place the cursor in the information display.

2Display release mode options.

Highlight the current release mode in the

information display and press J.

3Choose a release mode.

Highlight one of the following options and press

Mode Description

8Single frame Camera takes one photograph each time shutter-release button is

pressed.

IContinuous Camera records about 3 frames per second while shutter-release

button is held down.

ESelf-timer Use for self-portraits or to reduce blurring caused by camera shake

(055).

"Delayed remote Optional ML-L3 wireless remote control required.

Shutter is

released after two-second delay (055).

IX NIKKOR lenses can not be used. Page Compatible Non-CPU Lenses Non-CPU lenses may only be used when the camera is in mode M. Selecting another mode disables the shutter release. Some non-CPU lenses can not be used; see Incompatible Accessories and Non-CPU Lenses, below. A Other Flash Units The following flash units can be used in non-TTL auto and manual modes. D Other Accessories At the time of writing, the following accessories were available for the D3000. Approved Memory Cards The following SD memory cards have been tested and approved for use in the D3000. All cards of the designated make and capacity can be used, regardless of speed. Other cards have not been tested.
