❚❚Auto FP High-Speed Sync
When 1/320s (Auto FP) or 1/250 s (Auto FP) is selected for
Custom Setting e1 (Flash sync speed, 0299), the built-in flash can
be used at shutter speeds as fast as 1/320s or 1/250 s, wh ile
compatible optional flash units (0382) can be used at any shutter
speed (Auto FP High-Speed Sync).
This option determines the slowest shutter
speed available when using front- or rear-
curtain sync or red-eye reduction in
programmed auto or aperture-priority auto
exposure modes (regardless of the setting
chosen, shutter speeds can be as slow as 30s
in shutter-priority auto and manual exposure modes or at flash
settings of slow sync, slow rear-curtain sync, or red-eye reduction
with slow sync).
Options range from 1/60s (1/60 s) to 30 s (30 s).

DThe Flash-Ready Indicator
When the flash fires at full power, the flash-indicator in the camera
viewfinder will blink to warn that the resulting photograph may be
underexposed.
Note that the flash-ready indicators on optional flash
units will not display this warning when 1/320s (Auto FP) is selected.
