Shooting Options: The Shooting Menu

rImage Size

Choose the size of pictures in pixels for recording. Pictures taken at smaller sizes require less memory, making them suited to distribution by e-mail or the web. Conversely, the larger the image, the larger the size at which it can be printed or displayed without becoming noticeably “grainy,” limiting the number of pictures that can be recorded.

3264×2448

E (default setting) Good balance between file size and quality makes this the best choice in most situations.

D2592×1944

C2048×1536

B	1600×1200	Smaller than E3264×2448 and D2592×1944 for recording
		more pictures.

A1280×960

J 1024×768		Record pictures suited to display on a computer monitor.
K	640×480	Record pictures suited to display on a television, or to distribution
		via e-mail or the web.
I	3264×2176	Record pictures with the same aspect ratio (3:2) as those taken
		with 35mm film cameras.
G	3264×1836	Record pictures with the same aspect ratio (16:9) as wide-screen
		televisions.
