Photograph flowers, insects, and other small objects at close range.

•The camera can focus at distances as close as 4 cm (1.6 in.). Zoom is available when F is green.

•[AF area mode] is set to [Manual] (c 99). Camera focuses on subject in applied focus area.

•While the shutter-release button is pressed halfway, the camera focuses continuously until focus is acquired and locked.

•Macro close-up shooting (c 33) can be used for this option.

•Turn vibration reduction (c 116) off when using a tri- pod.

Slow shutter speeds are used to capture the expanding burst of light from a firework.

•Camera focuses at infinity. When the shutter-release button is pressed halfway, the focus indicator (c 26) always lights; however, focus may not be set for near subjects, while the camera focuses at infinity.
