If everybody loses a life at the same time, or everyone loses all their lives, the game proceeds to the ranking screen.

Rankings and Victory Tally

Rankings are determined by the number of coins you collect. Players are ranked according to score on the Final Results screen, but only the top player will have the game counted toward their total number of victories. That way, you can see which player has won the most matches this play session. The victory tally is reset when you return to the title screen or turn off your Wii console.

19When multiple characters ground-pound at exactly the same moment, a burst of energy defeats all on-screen enemies on the ground.
