Speaker Setup

Speaker Setup

You need to set up the speaker configuration for the speaker system connected to the FRONT SPEAKERS A connectors.

Notes

Speaker setup cannot be done if;

Headphones are connected, or

The FRONT SPEAKERS B system is On (see page 31).

It is not necessary to set the parameters again once you have completed the setup unless you change the speaker configuration.

Before operating the remote controller

Press MODE RCVR/VCR.

RCVR /VCR

The remote controller remains in the RCVR/VCR mode, until another MODE button is pressed.

Note

To check the present setting while the normal display is displayed, press SP SETUP once. To change the setting, press the button repeatedly within three seconds.

Before operating the remote controller Speaker Position

Press MODE RCVR/VCR. Input format

Selecting the number of speaker channels Output format

Speaker Position: Indicates the position of a selected channel.

Input format: Lights when a signal is input for that channel.

Output format: Lights when a signal is output for that channel.

Pressing the button repeatedly within three seconds changes the number of channels as follows (the corresponding speaker configuration is described in parentheses):

Speaker 5ch

(Front left, center, and right,

plus surround left and right speakers)

Speaker 2ch

(Front left and right speakers)

Remote controller

SW MODE

Press SW MODE on the remote controller.

SW indicator lights up when SW Mode 1, SW Mode 2 or SW Mode 3 is selected.

With the first press of the button, you can check the present setting. Then each press of the button changes the subwoofer mode as follows (a tip on how to select the right subwoofer mode is in parentheses):

SW MODE 1

(When small–with limited bass signal handling–front speakers are

connected)

SW MODE 2

(When large–wideband–front speakers

are connected)

SW MODE 3

(When large–wideband speakers are

connected to all channel)

SW Off

(When no subwoofer is connected)

Speaker 3ch

(Front left, center, and right speakers)

Speaker 4ch

(Front left and right, plus surround left and right speakers)
