CONNECTIONS

You can listen to your CD player by connecting optional stereo earphones or amplified speakers to the player’s PHONES jack, or by connecting a home audio or car stereo system to the player’s LINE OUT jack.

You can mount your CD player in your car using a mounting bracket. Your lo- cal RadioShack store has a complete line of mounting kits.

Listening Safely

To protect your hearing, follow these guidelines when you use earphones.

Set the volume to the lowest set- ting before you begin listening. Af- ter you begin listening, adjust the volume to a comfortable level.

Do not listen at extremely high volume levels. Extended high- volume listening can lead to per- manent hearing loss.

CONNECTING

EARPHONES

For private listening, plug a pair of ste- reo earphones with a 1/8-inch plug (not supplied) into the CD player’s PHONES jack.

Once you set the volume, do not increase it. Over time, your ears adapt to the volume level, so a volume level that does not cause discomfort might still damage your hearing.

Traffic Safety

Do not wear earphones while operat- ing a motor vehicle or riding a bicycle. This can create a traffic hazard and could be illegal in some areas.

Even though some earphones let you hear some outside sounds when lis- tening at normal volume levels, they still can present a traffic hazard.
