Shooting, Playback and Setup Menus

CContinuous

Change settings to Continuous or Best Shot Selector (BSS). Flash will be switched off when [Continuous], [BSS], or [Multi-shot 16] is selected. Focus, exposure and white balance are fixed at the values for the first picture in each series.

USingle (default setting)

One picture is shot each time shutter-release button is pressed.

VContinuous

While the shutter-release button is held down, up to 5 pictures are shot at a rate of about 1.0 frames per second (fps) when [Image mode] is set to [I Normal (4000)].

DBSS

The “best shot selector” is recommended when shooting with the flash off or the camera zoomed in, or in other situations in which inadvertent motion can result in blurred pictures. When BSS is on, the camera shoots up to ten pictures while the shutter-release button is held down. The sharpest picture in the series is automatically selected and saved.

WMulti-shot 16

Each time shutter-release button is pressed, camera shoots 16 pictures at about 1.0 frames per second and arranges them in a single picture with image mode setting [LNormal (2592)].

XIntvl timer shooting

Camera shoots (up to 1,800 frames) automatically at specified interval (A 87).

At settings other than [Single], the indicator for the current setting is displayed in the monitor (A 6).

BNote on Continuous Shooting

The maximum frame rate with continuous shooting may vary, depending upon the current image mode setting and the memory card used.

Digital zoom cannot be used in [Multi-shot 16].

At an [ISO sensitivity] (A 88) setting of [3200], the [Multi-shot 16] option is not available. When shooting with the [Multi-shot 16] option, select options other than [3200] for [ISO sensitivity] and select [Multi-shot 16] for [Continuous].

BNote on BSS

BSS may not produce the desired results if the subject moves or the composition changes while the shutter-release button is pressed all the way down.
