Advanced (Recording pictures)

Press the shutter button halfway to focus and then press it fully to take the picture.

Note

Failure of touch AF/AE, loss of the subject while dynamic tracking, or tracking of another subject may occur depending on the recording conditions in the following cases.

When the subject is too small

When the recording location is too dark

When the subject is moving too fast

When another subject or background is similar in color to the subject.

When jitter is occurring

When using the zoom

If Touch AF/AE fails, AF area will flash in red, and disappear. Touch the screen again.

• [AF MODE] will be recorded in [ ] when touch AF/AE and dynamic tracking do not work.

Frame showing touch possible area is displayed when you touch outside the possible area. The touch is invalid when it is outside the touch possible area.

The most appropriate scene is selected for the touched subject in the Intelligent Auto Mode.

Only focus can be adjusted during manual exposure.

[QUICK AF] and [FACE RECOG.] will not operate during touch AF/AE.

Touch AF/AE will not work in the following cases.

[PANORAMA ASSIST]/[STARRY SKY]/[FIREWORKS]/[PIN HOLE]/[FILM GRAIN] in Scene Mode.

When it is set to [B/W], [SEPIA], [COOL], and [WARM] in [COLOR EFFECT].

In Motion Picture Mode

[REC] Mode: ±

Taking Pictures with Set Aperture

(±: Aperture-priority AE)

Set the aperture value to a higher number when you want a sharp focus background. Set the aperture value to a lower number when you want a soft focus background.

Slide the [REC]/[PLAYBACK] selector switch to [¦/!], and then press [MODE].

Touch [APERTURE PRIORITY].

• Exposure (P53) can be compensated by touching the exposure compensation set bar. Touch the exposure compensation value you want to set.
