•If you use Windows 98/98SE, install the USB driver and then connect it to the computer.

•When using Windows Me/2000/XP, Mac OS 9.x and Mac OS X, you do not have to install the USB driver.

•DMC-LC80/DMC-LC70 is illustrated below as an example.

1Turn the camera on and set the [USB MODE] according to the OS you use.

•Set to [PTP] or [Mass Storage]. Refer to “Before Connecting with USB Connection Cable” on page 80.

•Do not set to [PTP] if you use Windows 2000 Professional, Windows Me, Windows 98/98 SE, Mac OS 9.x. (P81)

2Connect the camera to a PC via the USB connection cable (supplied).

•Align the 2 mark on the USB connection cable and the 1 mark on the [DIGITAL] socket.

Depending on the USB mode setting, the indications on the screen may vary. Read the page 83.
