Receiving Faxes

AUTO ANSWER
If you have a telephone line just for faxes, we recommend the following setup.
Example: One telephone line is used for phone calls and a separate telephone line for faxes.

FAX ONLY mode!

(all calls are received as faxes)

1Set feature #77 to “FAX ONLY” (p. 69).
2If the arrow (▼) is not shown on the right of
the display, turn it on by pressing
.
●The display will show the number of rings
before the unit answers a call in FAX ONLY
mode.

3If you wish to change the ring count setting,
press or until the desired number
is displayed, and press .

●When receiving calls, the unit will
automatically answer all calls and only
receive fax documents.

Activating FAX ONLYmode

Note:
●If the arrow (▼) is already shown on the right of the display and you wish to change the ring count, turn
the arrow off once then on again by pressing and follow the instructions in step 3.
●This mode should not be used with a telephone line which is used for both phone calls and faxes. Fax
communication will be attempted even if someone is trying to call you.
