Using the Other Line During a Conversation

During a conversation, if the other line indicator ﬂashes quickly, an

incoming call is being received on the line. You can answer the second

call while holding the ﬁrst call. You can also make a call without

terminating the ﬁrst call. If you subscribe to a Caller ID service, the

second caller’s information will be displayed when a call is being received

on the other line (p. 24).

Ex: If you are using LINE 1

1Press (HOLD) to put the ﬁrst call (LINE 1)

on hold.

≥The LINE 1 indicator ﬂashes.

2Press the other line button (LINE 2/DATA)

to make or answer a second call.

≥The LINE 2 indicator lights.

3To return to the ﬁrst call (LINE 1), press

the line button for the ﬁrst call (LINE 1).

≥To hold the second call in step 3, press (HOLD) before pressing the line button

for the ﬁrst call.

≥You may be informed if another call arrives on the other line during a

conversation by two tones (incoming call tone). For this setting, see page 42.
