12 COMPONENT TEST PROCEDURE

CAUTION

1.High voltage is present at the high voltage terminal of the high voltage transformer during any cook cycle.

2.It is neither necessary nor advisable to attempt measurement of the high voltage.

3.Before touching any oven components, or wiring, always unplug the oven from its power source and discharge the high voltage capacitor.

12.1.Primary Interlock Switch

(SAFETY SWITCH A), Secondary Interlock Switch (SAFETY SWITCH B) and Power Relay

1.Unplug the power cable.

2.Unplug lead wire connectors to Power Relay (RY2-16) and verify continuity of the power relay terminals.

3.Unplug lead wire connectors to Primary Interlock Switch and Secondary Interlock Switch.

4.Test the continuity of switches with the door in both open and closed positions with ohm meter (low scale). Normal continuity readings should be as follows.

2.Normal (cold) resistance readings should be as follows:

·Secondary winding Approx. 40Ω — 100Ω

·Filament winding Approx. 0Ω

·Primary winding Approx. 0Ω — 3Ω

12.4. High voltage capacitor

1.Check continuity of capacitor with meter on highest OHM scale.

2.A normal capacitor will show continuity for a short time, and then indicate 9MΩ once the capacitor is charged.

3.A shorted capacitor will show continuous continuity.

4.An open capacitor will show constant 9MΩ .

5.Resistance between each terminal and chassis should be infinite.

12.5. Magnetron

Continuity checks can only indicate an open filament or a shorted magnetron. To diagnose for an openfilament or shorted magnetron.

1.Isolate magnetron from the circuit by disconnecting the leads.

2.A continuity check across magnetron filament terminals should indicate one ohm or less.

3.A continuity check between each filament terminal and magnetron case should read open.

NE-2180C, NE-2180, NE-3280 specifications

Panasonic's commercial microwaves, including the NE-3280, NE-2180, and NE-2180C, are designed to meet the demanding needs of the foodservice industry. Each model is engineered to ensure optimal performance, efficiency, and durability, making them ideal for restaurants, cafes, and catering services.

Starting with the Panasonic NE-3280, it features a powerful 1800 watts of cooking power. This industrial-grade microwave offers a spacious 0.9 cubic feet interior, allowing for larger dishes and more significant quantities of food to be heated at once. The NE-3280 is equipped with a user-friendly touch control panel that provides easy access to multiple power levels and cooking times, which can be stored in memory for quick recalls. A key feature is its inverter technology, which delivers a steady stream of power for even cooking and defrosting, ensuring food retains its texture and flavor without overcooking.

Next, the NE-2180 model also showcases cutting-edge inverter technology but with a slightly lower wattage of 1,200 watts. This model maintains a compact design while providing a substantial 0.8 cubic feet of cooking capacity. It's tailored for smaller kitchens or operations looking for efficiency without compromising quality. The NE-2180 comes with programmable menus enabling quick selection of common cooking tasks, improving speed during busy service periods. Furthermore, the stainless-steel exterior makes the unit easy to clean and resistant to wear over time.

The NE-2180C variant is similar to the NE-2180 but is designed with specific features for enhanced versatility in food preparation. It includes a reliable cooking timer and a convenient one-touch control for reheating items quickly. The NE-2180C also sports a robust construction tailored for high-volume use. All three models boast a design that enhances safety with features like a cooling fan to prevent overheating and a child safety lock.

In summary, Panasonic's NE-3280, NE-2180, and NE-2180C microwaves represent a blend of innovation, reliability, and versatility. Each model is geared toward improving efficiency in commercial kitchens while ensuring the quality of heated food. With their durable design, user-friendly controls, and advanced technologies, these microwaves are essential tools for any foodservice operation looking to enhance its meal preparation process.
