Vocal mute function

Use this function on stereo sources to block out the vocals so you can sing along to the music.

Press [V. MUTE] on the remote control.

Every time you press the button:

V.MUTE ON V.MUTE OFF

Note:

This function is not suitable for the following sources.

Monaural recordings

Classical music or works performed by a limited number of instruments

Chorus works or duets

Changing the pitch

Use this function to change the pitch level.

Press [ I] or [#] on the remote control to select the pitch between -6 and +6.

 

To record your karaoke

To record from VCD with playback control

a. Press [7 ] on the remote control and then press the numeric buttons ( page 15).

b. Press [, RECORD] to start recording.

Recording your voice

Press [ , RECORD] and speak through the

 

microphone(s).

Adjust the volume with [- VOLUME+] and

 

[- MIC VOL+].

To stop recording

Press [7, STOP].

Note:

When playing the recorded tape, be sure to select the “Audio L R” mode.

Using sound effects

You cannot use Surround Enhancer, Center Focus, Super Surround and Subwoofer level if you have connected headphones (“ERROR” appears on the display).

You may experience a reduction in sound quality when these sound fi eld systems are used with some sources. If this occurs, turn the sound fi eld system off.

Using the sound field control

Press [SOUND] (main unit: [SOUND EQ]) to select a setting.

Every time you press [SOUND] on the remote control:

EQ-OFF HALL LIVE DISCO

Every time you press [SOUND EQ] on the main unit:

HEAVY

: Adds punch to rock.

CLEAR

: Clarifi es higher sounds.

SOFT

: For background music.

DISCO

: Reverberates sound to make you feel

 

like you are in a disco.

LIVE

: Makes vocals more alive.

HALL

: Expands sound to make you feel like you

 

are in a hall.

EQ-OFF

: Canceled (no effect is added).

MANUAL EQ : ( see below).

To check the current setting

Press [SOUND] (main unit: [SOUND EQ]).

Using the Manual Equalizer (MANUAL EQ) (by remote control only)

Create your own sound quality effects.

Press [SOUND] to select “MANUAL EQ”.

Within 12 seconds or so

Change the sound quality with the cursor buttons.

Select the sound range to be adjusted with [] or [].

BASS MID TREBLE

Adjust the level with [] or []. (–3 to +3)

Repeat step 2 to set the desired sound quality.

The original display is restored on the display panel in about 3 seconds.

To cancel

Press [SOUND] to select “EQ-OFF”.

The changes you make are stored and automatically recalled the next time you select “MANUAL EQ”.
