Like most other great audio components,your D/AC-800 needsto operatefor at least 72 hours before it will start soundingits best. This allows the materialsof various internal partsto "form" so they canbetter processthe complexities of musical waveforms. While your unit will sound spectacularright out of its carton, you11find it worthwhile to listen again after a few days. You11 discover details in your music you wouldn'thave guessedwere there.

Maintaining your D/AC-800

Your D/AC-800 needsno routine maintenance.We do recommendthat you removeand twist the various RCA connectionsoncea year to removeany corrosion buildup on plugs andjacks. Make surethe power is turned off before attempting this. It is not a bad ideato do this for eachof your other componentswhile you'reat it.

Never useany commercial cleanersor abrasiveson the front panel or top cover - they will likely scratchor disfigure them. Use only a soft cloth, if necessaryslightly damp to remove fingerprints.

In Case of Trouble

If you suspecta problem with your unit, first recheckall your connections. If one channelis inoperative, the trouble may be causedby anothercomponentor evena defectivehookup cable. If only one channelremainsinoperative, try reversingthe Left andRight cablesto your preamplifier (turn it off before moving wires). If the samechannelstaysout, it indicatestrouble could be other than your D/A converter itself. We suggestyou contactyour authorizedParasounddealeror call ParasoundTechnical Service if you suspecta problem. We will suggestother diagnostic testsyou caneasily perform and which will saveyou a lot of trouble.

Ifwe detennine that your D/AC-800 shouldbe returnedto Parasoundfor inspectionand possible servicing, you must first obtain a Return Authorization number from Parasound.You will be askedto re-packthe unit in its original carton andcardboardpacking plus an additional outer box over its own box for proper protection in transit. The Return Authorization number must be clearly markedon the outer carton only. You should ship the unit by UPS with adequateinsurance specified. You must include a copy of your purchasereceipt to validate your ownership.

Units that arrive without your specific Return Authorization number,without a suitableshipping carton or evidenceof improper internal packing or collect will be refused. We do not acceptcollect shipments. After repair under warranty, the unit will be returnedto you via prepaid UPS or RPS. If we found no problem with the unit, we will ship the unit by UPS or RPS collect for return shipping charges. In the caseof an out of warranty repair, we will advise you repair charges before you ship the unit. The samepacking requirementsand RA requirementapply.
