Dieser Vorgang sollte immer nur mit Hinweis neuen Saiten durchgefŸhrt werden.

Gebrauchte Saiten kšnnen Einstellungsprobleme verursachen. Es ist oft sehr schwer fŸr ein nicht geschultes Ohr zu hšren, wann die offene und die gegriffene Note exakt die selbe Stimmung haben.

Manche Musiker sind der Meinung, da§ es einfacher ist, den Flageolet-Ton am 12ten Bund der Saite mit dem der gegriffenen Note am 12ten Bund zu verglei- chen. Ein Flageolet wird gespielt, indem man die Saite mit der rechten Hand anschlŠgt und man dieselbe Saite mit dem linken Zeigefinger (so leicht wie mšglich) direkt Ÿber dem 12ten Bund berŸhrt.
