• The flash is always off when the Capture mode is set to C, Continuous shooting, Infinity-Landscape, or Fireworks.

• When using the flash, it always discharges once before taking the picture, to assist with metering.

• In [Auto flash + Red-eye Reduction] and [Flash On + Red-eye Reduction] modes, the flash discharges once to make the pupils of the subjects eyes smaller shortly before the main flash discharges to take the picture.

• The shutter speed will be slower with the flash off, or in low light conditions such as a night scene. Use a tripod to prevent camera movement.

1 Press the b button in Capture mode.

This will switch Flash modes, and the current icon will be displayed on the LCD monitor.
