The auxiliary AF light of this camera conforms to the safety standard (IEC60825-1) for Class 1 LED product. Looking at the light directly will not create safety hazard. However, do not look into the emitter from a very short distance since you may feel dazzled.

The camera does not emit the auxiliary AF light under the following condition: the recording mode is set to C (Movie), H (Landscape) or x (Candlelight), or the focus mode is set to pan focus, infinity- landscape mode, or manual focus.

In the H(Landscape) and x(Candlelight) mode, however, you can let the camera emit the auxiliary AF light by setting [Aux. AF Light] to On.
