Slow Motion

1 Press k (pause) during play to pause the videotape. Then press i / g to start slow motion. Sound will be mute during slow motion. Slow motion will stop automatically after five minutes to prevent damage to the tape.

2 Press PLAY B to return to normal playback.

Forward and Reverse Searching (SP/LP/SLP)

1 During videotape play, press and release i / g or j / h. A fast forward or reverse pic- ture search will begin.

2 To return to normal play, press PLAY B.

Super High Speed Searching (LP/SLP)

1 During tape play, press i / g or j / h, then press again. The TV/VCR/DVD will search the tape in high speed.

Press i / g or j / h repeatedly to switch between regular and high speed searching.

Viewing a Still Picture

1 During tape play, press k (pause).

A still picture will appear on the screen. The picture advances each time you press k (pause).

After a tape is paused for five minutes, play will stop automatically. This prevents damage to the tape and TV/VCR/DVD.

2 If the still picture vibrates vertically, stabilize the picture by pressing CH. or .

3 To release the still picture and return to nor- mal play, press PLAY B.

Helpful Hints

SP/LP/SLP means this feature will work with tapes recorded in Standard Play, Long Play, or Super Long Play. LP/SLP means this feature will work with tapes recorded in Long Play and Super Long Play. Tape speed details are on page 26.

During forward and reverse searching, horizontal noise bars will appear on the screen.
