Activate Pump

As long as the NBP button is pressed,

the pump runs. If system pressure

reaches the hardware over-pressure

protection point (280 to 330 mmHg or

37.3 to 44.0 kPa), the safety valve opens

and the pump disables, until the pressure

falls below the safety threshold.

Open Both Valves

As long as the Volume button is pressed,

the safety valve and proportional valve

opens and remains at maximum.

Deflate

As long as the Alarm Silence button is

pressed, the proportional valve opens

and bleeds off pressure at the rate of 3

±1.5 mmHg/s. It is useful to control the

bleed rate to 3mmHg/s to facilitate

certain AAMI SP10 tests. Any time the

bleed rate falls below 3 mmHg/s, the

valve opens and remains at maximum as

long as the button is pressed.

Offset Adjustment

Momentarily press the Contrast Adjust

button invokes the Zero Calibration

routine that is performed immediately

prior to each blood pressure

measurement. This routine looks at the

pressure in the system, and if the

pressure is non-zero, an offset is applied

which causes the system pressure to

display as Zero.
