CONTROLS

TOP AND FRONT PANEL - FIG. 1

1DBB button - to switch the bass boost on and off for extra bass.

2VOLUME control - to adjust the volume level

TAPE/(POWER OFF) - to switch to tape mode

RADIO/(MONO/STEREO)/(POWER ON) - to switch to radio mode

SUPPLY

Battery supply

Whenever convenient, use AC power supply if you want to conserve battery life.

Open the battery compartment (fig. 2) and insert six batteries as indicated , type R20, UM1 or D-cells.

Remove the batteries if they are exhausted or if they will not be used again for a long time. The battery supply is switched off when the set is connected to the power supply. To change over to battery supply, pull out the plug from the MAINS socket ^.

Power supply

Make sure the power voltage as shown on the type plate (on the back of the set) corresponds to your local power voltage. If it does not, consult your dealer or service organisation.

If the set is equiped with a voltage selector % (fig. 2) set this selector to the local mains voltage.

Connect the power supply lead to the MAINS socket and the wall socket. The mains supply is switched on.

To disconnect the set from the power supply completely, withdraw the mains plug from the wall socket.

RADIO RECEPTION

Set the MODE selector 3 to RADIO.

Adjust the sound with the VOLUME 2 control.

For extra amplification of the bass, use the DBB control 1. You may connect stereo headphones with 3.5 mm plug to the socket p PHONES 4. The loudspeakers are then muted.

Select the wave band using BAND switch 5.

Tune to a radio station using the TUNINGknob 6.

– For FM, pull out the telescopic aerial. To improve FM reception, incline and turn the aerial. Reduce its length if the FM signal is too strong (very close to a transmitter).

– For AM(MW), the set is provided with a built-in aerial, so there is no need to use the telescopic aerial. The aerial can be directed by turning the whole set.

When FM ST 6 lights up, you are receiving a FM stereo transmitter.

A disturbing noise, due to a weak FM stereo signal can be suppressed by setting the MONO/STEREO switch 3 to MONO. The FM ST 6 will disappear and you will hear (and record) the FM program in MONO.

The set is switched off if the MODE selector 3 is in position TAPE and no buttons are pressed.

CASSETTE PLAYBACK

Set the MODE selector 3 to TAPE.

Press EJ 9 # and insert a recorded cassette (fig. 3). For playback, any cassette type can be inserted.

Press PLAY 1 0 and playback will start

Playback stops when the tape in the deck reaches its end.

Adjust the sound with the VOLUME control

2. You may connect stereo headphones with 3.5 mm plug to socket p PHONES 4. The loudspeakers then will be muted.

For extra amplification of the bass, use the DBB control 1.

To interrupt playback press PAUSE ; $.

Press STOP 9 # if you want to stop the playback before the end of the tape.

When the end of the tape is reached, the PLAY 1 0 buttons are released.

The set is switched off if the MODE selector 3 is in the TAPE position and no buttons are pressed.

Winding the tape

Press F.FWD 5 to fast forward the tape.

Press REW 6 to fast rewind the tape.

Press STOP 9 to stop fast forward or fast rewind, or before the end of the tape.
