If the language you have se t is not available o n the disc,
the disc uses its own default language.
For some DVDs, the subt itle/audio la nguage can onl y
change from the disc me nu.
To select the languages t hat are not list ed in the menu,
select [Others]. Then check the L anguage Code l ist at
the back of this user manu al and enter the r espective
language code.
[Parental Control]
Restrict access to dis cs that are unsuit able for
children. These ty pes of discs must be reco rded
with ratings.
1. Press OK.
2. Select a rating le vel, then press OK.
3. Press the numeric buttons to enter the password.
Note
Rated DVDs above the leve l you set in [Parental
Control] require a password t o be played.
The ratings are coun try-depe ndent. To allow all d iscs to
play, select ‘8’.
Some discs have ratin gs printed on th em but are not
recorded with rat ings. This fu nction has no ef fect on
such discs.

[4:3 Letter Box] - For a 4:3 screen TV: wide-
screen display with bl ack bars on the top and
bottom of the screen.
[16:9] - For a wid e-screen TV: dis play ratio
16:9.
[Progressive]
If a progressive scan T V is connected to th is
product, turn on t he progressive sc an mode.
[On] - Turn on progre ssive scan.
[Off] - Turn of f progressive sc an mode.

[Picture Setting]
Select a predefined set of picture color settings or
customize the personal setting.
[Standard] - Original color s etting.
[Bright] - Vibrant color s etting.
[Soft] - Warm color setti ng.
[Personal] - Customize the col or setting. Set
the level of brightnes s, contrast, t int and color
saturation, the n press OK.
[My Wallpaper]
Select a picture a s the wallpaper.
[Default picture] - The default wal lpaper
preset as the Philips lo go.
[Saved picture] - A captured video image or
JPEG photo.
[Current picture] - Capture a video ima ge or
JPEG photo and save it on th e product.
1. Play a video or photo slidesh ow.
2. Select a video image or photo: press to
pause, and then press .
3. Navigate to the option ([Video Setup] >
[My Wallpaper] > [Current picture]).
4. Press OK to confirm.
One video image or JPEG photo is saved as »
wallpaper.
A newly saved image or photo replaces the »
earlier one.
