Play a disc

Caution
Do not place any object s other than disc s into the disc •
compartment.
Do not touch the disc opti cal lens inside t he disc
•
compartment.
1 Press to open the disc comp artment.
2 Insert a disc with i ts label facing up.
3 Press to close the disc compa rtment and
start disc play.
Note
Check the types of discs supported (see “Your DVD •
player” > “Playable m edia”).
If the password entr y menu is disp layed, enter th e
•
password before you c an play the locked o r restric ted
disc (see “Adjust settin gs” > “Prefere nces” > [Parental
Control]).

Play video

Note
Some operations may n ot work with so me discs. See th e •
information accomp anying the disc fo r details.

Control video play

1 Play a title.
2 Use the remote control to co ntrol the play.
Button Action
Start, pause or r esume disc play.
Stop disc play.
,Skip to a previous/nex t title or
chapter.
, Search fast-backward or fast-forward.
Press repeatedly to c hange the search
speed.
, Search slow-forward or slow-
backward. Press r epeatedly to chang e
the search speed.
For VCD/SVCD, slow-back ward
search is not available.
Select an audio lang uage or channel
available on a disc.
2 Select [OSD Language], a nd then press .
3 Press t o select a language , and then press
OK.

Turn on progressive scan

Note
To use the progressive sc an feature, you m ust connect a •
progressive scan TV with the component video jacks (see
“Connect” > “Connect audio/video cables” > “Option 1:
Connect to the compon ent video jack s” for details).
1 Turn on the TV to the corre ct video input
channel for this produ ct.
2 Press .
3 Press to select [Video Setup].
4 Select [Progressive] > [On], and then press
OK.
A warning message is displayed. »
5 To proceed, select [Ok] and then press OK.
The progressive setup is complete. »
Note
If a blank/distor ted screen is d isplayed, wai t for •
15 seconds for the auto reco very.
If no picture is displ ayed, turn off t he progress ive scan
•
mode as follows:
1) Press to open the disc compartm ent.
2) Press the Numeric button ‘1’.
6 Press to exit the menu.
7 You can now turn on the progre ssive scan
mode on the TV (see the TV u ser manual).
Note
During play, when the pr ogressive sc an mode is on for •
both this product an d the TV, distor ted pictur e may
display. In this case, t urn off the pro gressive sca n feature
on both this product a nd the TV.
