[TV System]
Change this setting if t he video does not appe ar
correctly. By default , this setting ma tches the most
common setting for TVs in yo ur country.
•[PAL] - For a PAL-system TV.
•[Multi] - For TV that is compatible w ith both
PAL and NTSC.
•[NTSC] - For an NTSC-system T V.
[TV Display]
Select a display forma t:
•[4:3 Pan Scan] - For a 4:3 screen TV: f ull-height
display with the trim med sides.
•[4:3 Letter B ox] - For a 4:3 screen TV: w ide-
screen display with bla ck bars on the top and
bottom of the screen.
•[16:9] - For a wide-scre en TV: display rati o
16:9.
[Progressive]
If a progressive scan T V is connected to thi s
product, turn on th e progressive sca n mode.
•[On] - Turn on progressive sca n.
•[Off] - Turn off progr essive scan mode.

[Picture Setting]
Select a predefi ned set of picture color set tings or
customize the person al setting.
•[Standard] - Original color setting.
•[Bright] - Vibrant color setting .
•[Soft] - Warm color setting.
•[Personal] - Customize the color setti ng. Set
the level of brightness , contrast, ti nt and color
saturation, then p ress OK.
[My Wallpaper]
Select a picture as t he wallpaper.
•[Default picture] - The default wallpaper
preset as the Philips log o.

2. Press to set the volume.
3. Press OK to confi rm and exit.
[Sound Mode]
Select a preset sound e ffect to enhance th e audio
output.
•[3D] - Select a virtual sur round sound effe ct
that is produced from the l eft and right aud io
channels.
•[Movie Mode] - Select a sound effect for
movies.
•[Music Mode] - Select a sound effect for
music.
[Speaker Setup]
Optimize the surroun d output for the conne cted
speakers.
[CD Upsampling]
For better sound quali ty in stereo mod e, convert
the music CD to a higher sam pling rate.
•[Off] - Turn off CD-u psampling.
•[88.2kHz] - Convert to twice the o riginal
sampling rate.
•[176.4kHz] - Convert to fo ur times the origin al
sampling rate.
[Night Mode]
Make loud sound level sof ter and soft sound le vel
louder so that you can watch t he DVD movies at a
low volume, without di sturbing other s.
•[On] - Enjoy quiet viewing at nig ht.
•[Off] - Enjoy surr ound sound with a ful l
dynamic range.
