SMS

If your network supports SMS (Short Message Service) and you have applied for this service from your network provider, you can send English and Chinese short messages through the short message service centre. The mobile phone supports EMS (Enhanced Messaging Service), and you can insert picture, animation, melody, sound, etc. to your messages. You can also use the template to create short messages.

Enter SMS to select the following: Inbox, Outbox, Write Message, Template or Message Settings.

Inbox

Enter the Inbox to view received messages. When you

receive a short message, your mobile phone will vibrate (if Alert Type is set to Vibration), ring (if the Message Tone function is enabled), and display the new

message alert information. If you do not wish to read it immediately, an envelope icon will appear at the top of the screen in standby mode, and the short message

will be automatically saved in your SIM card. The number of short messages that can be saved (this includes received messages as well as saved messages) is based on the memory capacity of the SIM card. If the memory in your SIM card is full, a flashing ""

icon will be displayed.

To read a new message, enter the Inbox and press L OK to read the new message.

When viewing the short message list in Inbox, the sender’s phone number or name (if the name has already been saved in the phonebook) will be displayed. The date that the short message was received is also displayed.

When viewing the short message list, you can use +/- to select a short message. When the short message list in Inbox appears, you can press L OK to read the details of a message, the date and time of receipt and the name (if the name has already

been saved in the phonebook) or telephone number
